Best battery life ever July 29, 2010 Nick This is by far the mp3 with the best battery life I've had. I can have it playing Rhapsody subscription songs almost a whole day non-stop.
For some reason they don't use it as a selling point in the package. It also plays videos, which you have to convert prior to transferring to it, but it comes with an application that does it automatically, but I never use it for videos.
The one frustrating con it has, its the stone age buttons, particularly the "play" button won't do what you ask it to do the first time. Very frustrating. But if you have the patience, you hardly will find a better video player.
Hope it doesn't break because Philips does not warranty it past 90 days. July 17, 2010 Counselor4U I received my GoGear Vibe 4G as a birthday present 7 months ago. The entire device still plays, however it is splitting apart at the middle seam...and basically looks as if it is exploding.
I called the company and they do not warranty this product past 90 days, which is the same warranty you get if you purchase the device at WalMat or Target. I now have to purchase another device, and it won't be a Philips, and then have to pay to redownload the music that I already had on the device because I no longer have the files since my computer crashed and I lost the files...there was no offer to satisfy my complaint at all.
Be careful if you have this device, average use for mine was 2-5 hours a week, if that and it was kept in a seperate case that I purchased for it and it still split. This issue was not due to carelessness on my part either.
A decent MP3 player - not good for video July 8, 2010 Karen This MP3 player was useful for the time it lasted. After 6 months of consistent use it malfunctioned.
For the price its a reasonable product. You can listen to music, download pictures, watch videos*, listen to radio, and record audio. Its easy to use as well. The headphones it comes with sounded cheap, so I upgraded those quickly.
*However, if your looking for video, the Vibe isn't for you. The screen is too small to really enjoy video anyway, but even if you were able to get past that, you have another issue to deal with. The says it plays "video clips" and that's all it really does. If you want to watch something bigger than 200MB (in my experience) then your out of luck. Which means you couldn't download most TV shows, and of course no movies. I barely used the video function, but look elsewhere if that feature is important to you.
Also, as I said, it lasted 6 months. So longevity isn't one of its strengths.

Pretty Neat Lil Piece! June 17, 2010 D. Taylor I bought this mp3 player as a gift for my dad, and of course I tested it out for him before I gave it to him. It is really neat. I was definatley looking for a mp3 player that could create playlists from the actual device. As compared to the one I currently have, you can only create on playlist, but the Phillips allows you to create 3 from the device itself. It is also very stylish. The usb cord is pretty short, but it does what it needs to. It is also pretty fast when syncing your music from Windows Media Player. Another thing, it allows you to view your selections by folder, but it creates a folder for every single artist, including if they are just on the track for one song. That's a lil annoying, so you gotta edit it on your computer to fix it after is syncs. Good luck with it. I would recommend it if you want easy use, style, good price, and ability to create playlists from device, and fast downloads.
